Black or Red?

After I picked up from the poker table today with my huge, giant, 3-digit win. I proceeded to check the kiosk for my comp situation and in my account was a match play. Now if you don't know what that is. In short it is a piece of paper that acts as a second chip to the one I put up for a wager. I bet five. If I lose, I lose five. But if I win the dealer gives me ten bucks because of the match play. Get it?

Ask a gambler and he or she will tell you that it is a huge advantage that should never be missed. Ask a cheap chicken like me and I define it as a tactic for the casino to get five bucks from me on the casino floor that I am never on in the first place.

But today I won. I walked around. Found the only no minimum table on a crowded Friday night. Checked the results board and noticed this wheel was favoring red. I put my chip and my little piece of paper on red and won! Bam! If it were only that easy.

Then I thought to myself it could be easier. Basically we gamblers like to peel the bandage off slowly. A pass bet on craps can take forever to pay out. The roulette wheel spins and spins trying hard to zero out my 50/50 (not really) wager. And a football game is just a stressful, three hour coin flip when you get right down to it. No? Maybe we could turn this economy around and save some effort and electricity here in AC if we just stood around a fire flipping coins. Heads? Tails? Buffet. Oh my.
